Converting a historical heritage

HISTORY
The entire Maggi site in Kemptthal used to be not accessible for the public, like many other industrial areas. A barred, secured district.

FUTURE
The legendary district is currently to be revived. As «THE VALLEY» the spacious factory premises between Winterthur and Zurich will accommodate up to 2000 workplaces after its conversion.

We are excited to be part of this journey and are currently supporting the developers in transforming «THE VALLEY» by executing the following projects.

«THE VALLEY» RESTAURANT
The former Boiler House and at a later stage the Staff Canteen has gone through a major face lift designed and planned by PHILIPP RÖSLI ARCHITECTS in 2018/2019. In addition a new restaurant operator (Migros Ostschweiz) started in June 2019. Together with our label STEEL, we were selected to design, plan, tender and finally execute the new outdoor terrace.

EVENT HALL
A former Maggie production facility will be transformed into a multifunctional event location for conferences, exhibitions, concerts, theatres, gala dinners, etc. Together with our partner Graf Biscioni Architects we planned the transformation of this building.

EXHIBITION & OFFICE BUILDING
One of the first building, that Mr. Maggi established back in the late 19th century, was home of the soup production. In the new MOTORWORLD Hall - as one part of the investor - will use this building as office, trade and exhibition space. qiip supports PHILIPP RÖSLI ARCHITECTS during the planning and construction phase.

SILO BAR | EVENTS | GALLERY
In the various 11 meter hight silos of the former Maggi silo building, many of the soup ingredients (starch, flour, maltodextrin etc.) were stored. As the later tenant, qiip developed and planned a rooftop bar and event location on four levels. Together with our label STEEL, the interior design, mainly done with black STEEL and produced in our own workshop on site, this fit-out work will be the setting of the new and trendy space. The stunning rooftop location was opened in July 2020. This venue can be rented for corporate as well as private events for different occasions. Furthermore it is planned to have after work activities and the event location provides a hot-spot for pop-up restaurants for lunch and/or special events.
