2020 BIE WORLD EXPO DUBAI

173 days. a lifetime of stories

ABOUT THE WORLD EXPO
The World's Fair was always an opportunity to gather the best each country had to offer and present it to people from all over the world. It serves to consolidate new technologies or innovation as well as commercial goods and products from all nations. It created new markets as well as standards for international trade - the first step towards globalization. In 1851 the first ever World's Fair was held in Hyde Park, London. The legendary Crystal Palace was constructed for this event whereas the Eiffel Tower was built for the 1889 Expo.

CONNECTING MINDS, CREATING THE FUTURE
Dubai's Expo 2020 will be a festival of human ingenuity. The engines of growth are no longer steam powered. Instead, collaboration and partnership have taken its place, becoming the driving force behind new developments. Expo 2020 in Dubai will showcase and explore what is possible when new ideas and people connect. The Expo 2020 will be opened from 20 October 2020 till 10 April 2021.

The Concept of National Pavilions
After the first World's Fair in the Crystal Palace in London, subsequent expositions united the world under the large roof of a single building. In 1867, the amount of space available in Paris was insufficient, and this led to the concept of National Pavilions.
