IOC’S PRIVLEDGED DIALOGUE
FIRST HOST COUNTRY IN THE OLYMPIC HISTORY Switzerland is the first country to be invited by the IOC to enter “Privileged Dialogue” status in autumn 2023.
With this invitation the IOC commits to conducting an exclusive dialogue with Switzerland and to reserving the organization of the 2038 Winter Games for Switzerland until the end of 2027. We now have until the end of 2027 to further develop and refine the bid.
THE GAMES OF SWITZERLAND together. unique. innovative. Together as the first Host Country. For the most sustainable Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. The Olympic and Paralympic Games 2038 in Switzerland are more than just a sporting event – they represent a unique, collective, unifying and inspiring project for the Swiss population and created by the Swiss population. Switzerland is creating Games that are economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable — because we are rethinking what is possible, because we are ready to take action, because the conditions here are ideal, and because we Swiss can achieve this
qiip was commissioned in 2025 to support the masterplan for all competition and non-competition venues, including cost estimates for all infrastructures and temporary installations across the Alpine and Nordic disciplines, ice sports, bobsleigh, broadcasting, media, and ceremonies.
