2024 OLYMPIC & PARALYMPIC SUMMER GAMES

SUPPORT TO THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE

qiip was appointed in May 2021 to support the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Organizing Committee with the consultancy for various tasks in terms of temporary infrastructures (overlay).

SCOPE OF WORK IN DIFFERENT VENUES

qiip’s overlay and event specialists have been entrusted with the consultancy for the heart of the Games, the beach volleyball and blind football stadium directly in front of the famous Eiffel Tower. qiip elaborated a detailed study of how this temporary sports venue with a capacity of approximately 14'000 spectators can be built. The team was advising the organizing committee on the technical specifications of the stadium, the preparation of other necessary studies, the project schedule and a cost estimate for the entire facility.

Further to this sports venue, the experts of qiip have been involved in first order budget exercises and cost estimates for all overlay items of such international sport event.

CHALLENGES

The location of the stadium is particularly challenging. It is located in a protected park with historic fountains, an old tree population and other important elements that must be comprehensively protected and must not be damaged. The construction of the stadium will start at the beginning of 2024 and will remain until the end of the Paralympic competitions.

TEMPORARY STRUCTURES

Contrary to the «temporary structure» of the Eiffel Tower of the 1889 World Exhibition, this stadium will be completely dismantled after the Olympic & Paralympic Games and will move to the next major event, in line with the sustainability of major events.
